New PET/CT arrives!
Marking a significant new investment in diagnostic technology,Wilkes-Barre General Hospital’s new GE Optima PET/CT 560 scanner recently was installed at the Thomas P. Saxton Medical Pavilion. An important tool in cancer diagnosis and treatment, the advanced imaging system utilizes both positron emission tomography (PET) and x-ray computed tomography (CT) to produce detailed images on the location, size and growth of tumors. The new technology is planned to go on-line in a matter of weeks. A dedication for the new technology is planned for early February. Watch for more information.
