Gynecologic Oncologist Dr. George Chamoun joins Physician Health Alliance; Opens Practices in Plains and Scranton

Gynecologic Oncologist George Chamoun, DO, FACOG, recently joined the group medical practice of Physician Health Alliance and is accepting new patients at his office locations at 670 North River Street, Suite 201, Plains and 521 Mt. Pleasant Drive, Suite 101, Scranton.

A Wilkes-Barre native, Dr. Chamoun is a magna cum laude graduate of Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY. He received his medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Philadelphia, and completed an internal medicine residency at the former Mercy Hospital, Scranton. He further completed an OB/GYN residency and gynecologic oncology fellowship at UMDNJ/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at Camden Cooper University Hospital, Camden, NJ.

Board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Chamoun comes to Physician Health Alliance from Virginia Gynecologic Oncology, Richmond, Va., where he served as Medical Director. In 2011, Richmond Magazine named Dr. Chamoun a “Top Doctor” in Gynecologic Oncology.

Dr. Chamoun holds medical staff privileges at Moses Taylor Hospital, Regional Hospital of Scranton and Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
