Commonwealth Health is pleased to welcome surgical breast oncologist Dr. Eric C. Burdge to his new practice at 190 Welles Street, Forty Fort.
Dr. Burdge earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Washington—Seattle, and his medical degree from the Cornell University Medical College, New York. He completed his general surgery residency at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center, New Hyde Park, N.Y., where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Burdge also holds a doctoral degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Washington.
Board-certified with the American College of Surgery, Dr. Burdge most recently served as an Instructor of Surgery at Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, Little Rock, AR. While there, he also completed a Surgical Breast Oncology Fellowship at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences under the tutelage of Dr. V. Suzanne Klimberg.
A lieutenant colonel in the United States Air National Guard, Dr. Burdge also serves as the Chief of Aerospace Medicine and Senior Flight Surgeon for the 189th Airlift Wing—Arkansas Air National Guard.
